Appreciate the natural beauty of southern Kyushu, including the World Heritage site of Yakushima Island.
About 2.5 hrs by high-speed hydrofoil from mainland Kyushu, Yakushima is an island wilderness where the unique woodland environment remains unspoilt. One of Japan’s World Heritage sites, the island is covered with lush green forests, which includes many Yaku cedars which are more than 1,000 years old, giving the place a mysterious atmosphere. Go trekking with a local English guide, through the thick forests which inspired the Studio Ghibli animation, Princess Mononoke.
The tour begins in Tokyo, with time to take optional tours or just explore. And similarly in Kyoto, there is a variety of tours and excursions to choose from – or just take in the history of this former capital of Japan at your own pace before heading home.

  • Ibusuki: experience unique hot sand bath treatment
  • Yakushima: an island with World Heritage site status because of its unspoilt ancient forest environment
  • Kagoshima: with a picturesque view of Mt.Sakurajima
  • Tokyo & Kyoto: must-see cities, symbols of modern and traditional Japan
