The Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist pass is valid on the conventional JR train lines from Nagoya and Osaka and the section of ‘Hokuriku Shinkansen’ Bullet train line shown, and also local bus services. This is particularly useful because the World Heritage area ‘Historic Villages of Shirakawago and Gokayama’, with its traditional thatched farmhouses, is not accessible by train.
It is valid on five consecutive calendar days within a three-month period from the date of issue. It cannot be bought in Japan.
