Welcome to our “destinations in Japan” section, your guide to the regions, towns and cities around the country.
Japan has an enormous variety of regions and places to discover.

The chain of islands which make up the country stretches so far from north-east to south-west, climate and scenery is richly varied.
Hokkaido in the north has temperatures of -30° in winter and thick powder snow. In contrast, the subtropical Okinawa islands in the south enjoy balmy temperatures year-round, clear warm seas and coral reefs. Between those extremes of climate, each region has its own distinctive scenery, weather, local produce and traditional festivals.
