Travellers with limited mobility who normally use a wheelchair can join JTB’s Sunrise tours and excursions – some are more suitable than others.

  • Please note that while all tours below are escorted by English-speaking guides or English-speaking assistants, they cannot provide assistance to participants using wheelchairs as they are in charge of guide duties and schedule management.
  • Participants using wheelchairs must be accompanied by a friend or family member in order to board and disembark all public accommodation without assistance from tour guides. Additionally, some tours may have places with hindrance to wheelchairs, but the tour can still be enjoyed, with exception of some sightseeing points.
  • Coaches are not wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair users must travel with a companion for assistance when boarding and disembarking the coach.
  • Wheelchairs are not provided, so please bring your own wheelchair.
  • For wheelchairs other than foldable manual types, there may not be enough space in the luggage space of the coach (depending on the size of the wheelchair).
  • Customers who use mobility scooter may not use their scooters on Shinkansen (Bullet train) services and some other trains. Note that it is possible to borrow a wheelchair at train stations.
  • Depending on their size, some electric-powered wheelchairs may not be loadable on the bus. Please check with us.
